For our Recombinant and Gene Therapy Product Developmentdepartment we are looking for aScientist - Formulation, Lyo & Stability Development (m/f/x) - R-162777(Fulltime / Permanent/ Tariff)Role:The R&D Formulation Development Scientist will work in a high performing, cross-functional team with the goal of driving innovation in the development of scalable formulations and processes related to the manufacture and use of therapeutic proteins. The team member will be responsible for activities related to the development and testing of recombinant product formulations with a special focus on hands-on laboratory work covering test material production ( liquid and freeze-dried formulations), execution and evaluation of complex analytical methods, evaluation of high throughput methods and automated systems, as well as sample logistics and data management according to the latest state of the art.Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Development of experimental study designs (In accordance with DoE principles) in agreement with supervisorPlanning and performing experimental work including data analysis and communicating results to manager or project team in form of a report or a presentationEvaluation of results and proposal of recommended actionsPreparation of study plans and reports In EnglishRepresentation of the department in project teams ("subject matter expert")Operation of complex equipment, program scripting and processing of raw dataParticipation and presentations at conferences and creation of publication draftsProcurement, collection, preparation and distribution of samples, also in coordination with other departments, manufacturing, analytics, QCContact person as a subject matter expert for certain processes and devicesLiaison with external suppliers and collaboration partnersSupporting the creation of written contributions to regulatory documentsCreation and revision of technical documents, including operating procedures, test- or process protocols and reports (possibly relevant for submission)Supporting the procurement of new equipment and systemsCoordination of maintenance calibration and qualification (IQ/OQ) of laboratory equipment according to specific quality standardsCoordinating the availability of materials, solutions and reagentsExperience in the following areas is an advantage:Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in German and EnglishTechnical and problem-solving skillsExperience in aspects of protein formulation, selection of suitable excipients and analytical methods for stability screeningExperience in methods and techniques specific to formulation development (DLS/SLS, DSC, DSF, FDM, SEM, XRD, freeze-drying etc.) A strong data analysis/statistics background, knowledge of the use of statistical software packages and experience in statistical analysis and planning of experiments (experience in SAS/JMP desirable)Knowledge of and interest in automation and programming, simulation software and the evaluation of large amounts of data, especially in the field of high-throughput technology and the use of laboratory robot systemsExperience with data management and data standards to drive digital transformation.Good understanding of the stabilization mechanisms, selection criteria for excipients and physico-chemical properties related to the development of freeze-drying cyclesFamiliarity with the requirements of GSP, GMP, DoE and QbD.Sound knowledge of the international regulatory framework related to stability testing (ICH Q1, Q5, Q6Qualifications & Experience:A University Degree in a relevant field of Science ( Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry or Biology) Project experience and knowledge of relevant analytical and preparative methods English Level 24-5 years of relevant experienceMarburg, CSL Behring Innovation GmbHHuman ResourcesR-162777Our BenefitsWe encourage you to make your well-being a priority.
