WHAT YOU'LL DOThis is an exceptional new opportunity for a Compliance Director to lead the Compliance team for EMESA at BCG. The EMESA compliance function forms part of BCG’s Risk Management and Compliance team. The Compliance team provides steering and oversight on critical compliance topics that anchor how we all support each other, our clients, and run our business – with policies, processes, and systems which we continuously improve. The team develops and implement smart capabilities, toolkits, frameworks, and trainings, to empower BCG staff to act in accordance with our Values and Code of Conduct, and to promote adherence to laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures.The Compliance Director must provide reasonable assurance to BCG’s Chief Compliance Officer that the EMESA region has effective and efficient policies and procedures in place that are understood and respected by all staff, and that BCG is in compliance with all legal and, where applicable, broader regulations. Be responsible for championing and leading the compliance function and being a trusted advisor to BCGers in the regionConduct regular compliance risk assessments in close coordination with global compliance and risk teams to determine the compliance risk exposure in the region, and report to the Chief Compliance Officer Deploy the annual compliance work plan in the region, oversee its implementation and report to the Chief Compliance Officer Deploy compliance frameworks and oversee guidance, counseling, training, and education programs to enhance BCGers understanding of relevant laws and regulatory requirements as well as (business) risks owned by other global functions such as HR, Finance or IT in the region Prepare and present clear and concise compliance reports to BCG’s leadership in the region and the Chief Compliance Officer Coordinate 2nd line reviews regarding the implementation of measures and controls in the region, including continuous, KPI-based monitoring, and report to the Chief Compliance Officer Form and develop excellent working relationships with Global Risk and Compliance, local regional and system leadership (including Regional and System Risk & Compliance MDP Nodes), Finance Regional Controllers and Heads of Finance, across all compliance topicsDetect and remediate weaknesses and gaps in the compliance management system for the purpose of continuous improvement, including lessons learned, in the region Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and provides solutions to streamline existing compliance processes and procedures in the region Assists project teams (as allocated by the Chief Compliance Officer or local leadership roles,) with a view to ensuring that compliance considerations are identified and recorded from inception to deliveryAttend appropriate industry briefing on relevant topics ensuring that outputs from these briefing are then appropriately disseminated to stakeholders within the businessAssume additional responsibilities as requiredYOU'RE GOOD ATManagement-level experience, including hiring and managing responsibility for direct reportsExperience in an international working environment Strong knowledge and expert ‘know-how’ of relevant regulatory frameworksExperience influencing staff of all levels of an international and matrix-based working environment Ability to assess end-to-end business risk priorities associated with compliance risks relevant to a professional services organizationAbility to make risk-based decisions, using sound judgement to escalate appropriatelyCapability to provide advice & guidance to business units, covering policies, procedures, and risksStrong ability to identify trends and unusual activity in management information and dataDemonstrated experience in project and risk managementA genuine intellectual curiosity to understand BCG’s scope of activity in the market Appetite and ability to deal confidently with ambiguityFluent business English (spoken and written); additional languages desirableYOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)Advanced degree in law, risk management/finance/audit, business administration or similar university degree. Professional compliance or legal qualifications will be considered favourably.10 years’ + experience in a senior Compliance and Risk position within an international/multinational corporate environment.Experience of a technology led professional services environment particularly of interest.Experience in compliance, legal counseling, risk management, (internal) audit and/or similar areas in an international business (aerospace, transport, construction, pharmaceutical, healthcare etc.), professional services company, law firm or audit company.Track record of providing support, guidance and oversight on critical compliance matters and topics across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Demonstrable management level leadership and the ability to act as trusted advisor to the business. Versatility and culturally fluency in diverse environments and markets essential.YOU'LL WORK WITH• A network of regional Compliance teams with a reporting line into the Global Head of Compliance; and• Senior business stakeholders and their teams across the EMESA region.
